Tanzanian coffee, washed process. When we first cupped samples of this coffee, from Lunji Estate, it was very reminiscent of some high end Kenyan coffees we've had. The final profile has not disappointed; dark but not roasty, sweet, and juicy.
From our partners at Cafe Imports: Lunji Estate is a 380-hectare farm with 92 hectares planted in coffee. The farm is located at the base of Mount Mbeya and is planted with Bourbon, Blue Mountain, Kilimanjaro, and Luwiri coffee varieties. After the coffee is harvested ripe, it is depulped the same day and given a dry fermentation for 72 hours in cement tanks. Then the coffee is washed three times and sorted through grading channels before being dried on raised beds for 10–12 days, depending on the cloud cover.
Tanzania AA Lungwa
Rich chocolate with dense sweetness. Wild honey flavors, delicate jasmine notes and a citric acidity reminiscent of pink grapefruit.
