Light roast Nicaraguan coffee, washed process. Produced by Sabino and Maria Jesus at their farm, La Fuente, in Jinotega. La Fuente is a second generation farm where modern coffee production meets old-world charm. They use raised beds for drying and sorting, and you might find Don Sabino using two oxen to pull a cart or plow a field! In the cup, this coffee reminds us of some of the nicer coffees from Burundi that we've had - but with very Central American vibe to it.
This coffee was proudly sourced through Gold Mountain Coffee Growers. Gold Mountain is a direct trade social enterprise that's helping to connect farmers with roasters while providing numerous benefits to the surrounding communities. They provide education assistance, financing, technical assistance and even bought their own rainforest, just to protect it.
Note: This coffee is whole-bean. We feel this is the best option to preserve freshness, flavor, and aroma. If you need your coffee ground, please choose a grind level option and we'll be happy to grind it accordingly.
Nicaragua - Sabino & Maria Jesus
Spicy floral aroma with initial brown sugar sweetness, backed with apple-like acidity. Notes of pear and white grape juice appear as the cup cools.
